He trusted the driver whose car he got in. Every crash is avoidable and lives can be saved if everyone would just do their part. If you are going to drink, then do so responsibly. Don’t drive when impaired. Call Uber or a taxi or call a friend.
As a victim of a drunk driver, I can attest to the daily pain and suffering of someone’s selfish choices.
