Even though he was “just an in-law” we loved him more than words can say and losing him forever changed our family. Like you, the date will always be etched into my brain. It was a Thursday and whenever someone mentions Friday the 13th I always respond with “Thursday the 12ths are the real killers”. They always look at me strangely but I remember with sadness that bad luck doesn’t care what day it is. The pain never goes away but it becomes easier to bear. Prayers for your healing.
